A trip to Disney World can be stressful if you do not plan it well. Luckily, there are several easy-to-remember Disney World Tips that you can keep in mind before your trip. Read this article to find out how to make your Disney adventure much, much easier.
General Disney World Tips
Before you go to Disney World, do these:
Bring a lot of water and sun screen since you will be doing a lot of walking.
If you have children, measure their height first so you already know if they fulfill the height requirements of some attractions.
If you can, get a FASTPASS. It saves you time because you never have to wait in long lines.
Never forget your camera.
Bring an autograph book – you never know who you will bump into.
Bring cash in small denominations so you do not have to look for ATMs as often.
Disney World Tips for Magic Kingdom
Schedule: If you are planning to go to Magic Kingdom, call ahead and find out the schedule of activities for the day. You can also get the Times Guide, which gives you complete information on show times and Park hours. You can also visit the tip board on Main Street U.S.A. to find out the current wait times for the crowd favorites.
Money:Three ATM machines are available in Magic Kingdom. There is one under the Main St. train station, another near Frontierland Shooting Arcade, and another at the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. arcade near Space Mountain. If you need to exchange foreign currencies, go to the City Hall.
Photos and memorabilia: If you want a professional picture souvenir, look for the Disney photographer at the entrance and near Cinderella Castle. Looking for other memorabilia? Visit the Harmony Barber Shop beside Main Street’s Car Barn to get a haircut.
Special activities: Like Epcot and Animal Kingdom, “behind the scenes” tours are available by calling 407-WDE-TOUR to know the details and also for reservation.
Disney World Tips for Epcot
Schedule: The activity schedules and Park hours can be found in the Epcot Times Guide. The tip board at Innoventions Plaza shows the current waiting time for this area’s popular attractions.
Money: ATM machines are located in the east side of the Entrance Plaza, on the path between Future World and World Showcase, and near the Germany. Currencies can be exchanged in the Guest Relations office or at the American Express Travel Office west of the Entrance Plaza.
Photos and memorabilia: If you want to have the autograph of your favorite characters, look for a double decker bus where they are riding. At the Mission: SPACE attraction, you can send e-mail, pictures, and video clips. You can buy Disney merchandises at gift shops in Future World and International Gateway.
Special activities: Your children will enjoy hands-on activities at the Kidcot Fun Stop activity centers around World Showcases.
Disney World Tips for Disney-MGM Studios
Schedule: Check the Times Guide. The Studios’ tip board also carries daily show times and updated wait times. This is located at the corner of Sunset and Hollywood Boulevards. Though the rides and shows in the park stop admitting guests before closing time, some attractions like Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror can be accessed until the very last minute
Money: If you need cash, ATM machines can be found just outside its entrance. There is another one inside the Toy Story Pizza Planet.
Photos and memorabilia: If you want to take home a souvenir photo, a photographer is waiting for you near the Studios’ entrance.
Special activities: Fancy a shopping trip? The shops at Hollywood Boulevard are open 30 minutes after the Studio closes.
Disney World Tips for Animal Kingdom
Schedule: For show times and Park schedules, check Animal Kingdom’s Times Guide. If you want to know the waiting time of the Park’s favorite attractions, consult the tip board on Discovery Island.
Memorabilia: You can find your favorite characters at Camp Minnie-Mickey for autograph.
Money: Only one ATM is available at Animal Kingdom – it is located right at the entrance.
Special activities: If you need to do some last-minute shopping, Island Mercantile on Discovery Island is open 30 minutes after the Park closes.
